Blackgang Beach
Near Niton,
Isle of Wight
Lat: 50.57949 - Lon: -1.3086
When you get to the car park (which is sometimes very busy) at the end of Old Blackgang Road, head for the beach through the gate at the far end. More detailed directions below.
Directions:
Park in the small car park as described above. Turn left, so you are facing south and walk south between the two hillocks. That part takes you safely down towards the west and over a style. The path, although through dense scrub, is clear to follow. Near the pond, the path splits and take the right fork. It goes up and down a bit but various planks over streams highlight you are on the right path. The final section over muddy clay (if wet) takes you to an easy scramble down the last 15’ of slippage down on the the beach. (Thank you to John for sending us these directions).

For such a remote spot, it can get surprisingly busy with both couples and singles (and the occasional very surprised walker!) It’s a slog back up to the car - especially when sunny - so don’t forget anything!
