Domaine de la Gagère

We stayed at this site for a week in August 2014. It's a lovely secluded wooded site with two heated pools with sun loungers and some great views down the valley where you can watch the evening sun setting with a large glass of wine or two! The access road is narrow but easily passable with care. The owners are Dutch and when we stayed most of the guests were also Dutch (about 80%) so its a bit like being in Holland - most of the notices are in Dutch - however almost everyone was able to speak English. There was a warm welcome and our mobile home was spotlessly clean and very well equipped, there was even a bottle of wine on the table!
There are some activities for children and it is particularly suitable for younger ones. There is a volley ball court, a take away food bar, a small restaurant and a very well stocked shop for all the basics. There are some cabins / mobile homes and some excellent camping / caravanning / motorhome pitches. (Be aware that this is a wooded site and some of the site gets very little sun - particularly some of the mobile homes so when you book remember to specify the sort of area you want.)
There is free wi-fi in the reception area and at the pool (just) There is a sauna and massage (pay)
There is a town 3/4 miles away with basic shops and a supermarket - and some low key attractions.
The site is always quiet, there was never any rowdy behaviour during our stay (except for a bit of singing in the bar which finished early) There is some 'entertainment' but of the quiet / calm sort.
This really is a great site if you want peace and quiet with a great location.
