Official nude beach
On the Mornington Peninsula. From the city take the Nepean Highway (Route 3) south some 40 km to Frankston. Continue a further 7 to 8 km then look for the sign to Sunnyside Beach. Turn right here and drive down this road for about 800 metres to the car park. Actually you may have to park well short of the car park on busy days, and do be careful of driveways and No Parking signs. Walk on to Sunnyside Beach then proceed north around the rocky point to North Sunnyside.

I have been a regular at Sunnyside since 2009. It's a fabulous beach for nudists and exhibitionists alike. The beach is probably around 1km long, with the first 300m being family friendly, the next 300m gets a bit more kinky with straight couples and swinger-type groups, and then last stretch of beach is all guys - mostly gay and exhibitionist types. As a heteroflexible guy, I love hanging out (pun intended) in the 'gay section as I get to feel free, unencumbered and enjoy the sexuality on display.

Visited it today with my paddleboard. Got there about 11:00am and got the last proper parking spot in the carpark. By the time I left at 1:00pm cars were parked on the edges of the carpark, and a few well up the road (the road close to the carpark is no stopping). The beach itself is quite narrow, but it was clean. I had lunch about halfway up the beach. In that section of the beach there were a few MF couples, some males by themselves (as I was since my wife was working today), and some pairs of males. There was no inappropriate behavior that I saw. All in all just a normal beach scene. It's a pity that so many people have to crowd in to this small beach area, as Sunnyside beach itself, which is a much wider beach only had about three small family groups on it.

Went today... 25/02/2020. Very disappointed. . Apart from the 700 metres walk over rocks with hardly any path at all... no ammenaties. . Other than back at the car park... the beach itself is a collection of rocks and sandy patches and getting into the sea is a delicate operation. .. not the brochure paradise promised

I've been a regular to this beach for years. It is a great place to meet like minded people who are comfortable with themselves. You never tried nudism? Yes it is difficult at first. But you will find that as you become comfortable being naked in front of other naked people, your self confidence will increase. I see it as a way to make an intimate connection with people without having sex because usually we only get naked with others when we do the wild thing. When another person sees me naked it makes me feel good and my way of saying to them you lucky thing.

Given that it’s 6 years since the last review it’s time an up to date and more balanced review is offered. Like many well frequented c/o beaches, there is a “gay” area and honestly it is not a problem. If your homophobic just don’t walk to the north end. There plenty of room for everyone. This is a beautiful beach, kept clean by the regulars and is a great swimming beach. The regulars are a friendly bunch and on busy days is safe for singles and families.

I have visited this beach about 6 times this year and at all times there where to many guys playing with other guys at the north end of the beach. The sand has been washed away at the south end.
